CURRENT PROJECTS
We are committed to creating meaningful change through impactful initiatives. Our current projects, Binti Selemani and Magic Mama’s Diary, focus on uplifting the most vulnerable in our communities.
EMPOWERING LIVES, ONE INITIATIVE AT A TIME
At Shilingi Yangu Foundation, we are committed to making a lasting impact through initiatives that uplift and support the most vulnerable in our communities. Our two flagship projects, Binti Selemani and Magic Mama’s Diary, are dedicated to restoring dignity, providing support, and fostering hope for those in need.
BINTI SELEMANI: A MISSION OF LOVE
Honoring the hands that raised us. Shilingi Yangu Foundation believes in the power of love, resilience, and giving back. Our founder’s story is a testament to the strength of a grandmother’s love. Orphaned at five years old, she was raised by her grandmother—a woman who became her pillar, mentor, mother, and father. Through every hardship, her grandmother stood by her, offering unconditional love, even when the world turned away. Sadly, she lost her during her final year of university, but her legacy of love and sacrifice lives on.
To honor this remarkable woman, we launched the SHILINGI YANGU ELDERLY CARE FUND, a fundraising initiative dedicated to supporting neglected and vulnerable elders living in harsh conditions without proper care. Our mission is to restore dignity, provide shelter, healthcare and essential needs to ensure they live with the respect they deserve.
MAGIC MAMA's DIARY: SUPPORTING MOTHERS THROUGH POSTPARTUM CHALLENGES
Magic Mama’s Diary (MMD) is a transformative initiative under Shilingi Yangu Foundation (NGO registration number 00NGO/R/8021). We are dedicated to advocating for and supporting women who experience postpartum challenges, including mental health struggles such as depression, anxiety, stress, and overthinking. Through our initiative, we provide a safe space for mothers to share their experiences, access professional counseling, and receive emotional and financial empowerment.
Our mission is to break the silence surrounding postpartum mental health by creating a community of support, fostering awareness, and ensuring that no mother suffers in isolation.
